Start with the finished product
A facial oil, a body massage oil and a hair finishing oil serve different routines. Before comparing suppliers, define the use area, application method, target customer and intended market. A supplier comparison is more useful when every candidate receives the same brief.
Check the manufacturing entity
Ask for the contracting entity, production location and current cosmetic manufacturing documents. Review the permitted scope against the proposed product. General factory photographs help introduce a facility; a project decision also needs current documents and a discussion of the actual process.
Approve a measurable reference
Record what an accepted sample means: appearance, odour, colour, spreadability, skin or hair finish, packaging and application instructions. Keep an approved reference and agree how later changes will be handled.
